In the following years, a recreational and bathing lake was created on the west side of the "Große Aue" to provide opportunities for natural recreation. With its characteristic shoreline, the "See am Kleihügel" (water surface 5.6 ha) blends in perfectly with the landscape. Shallow water areas and immediately adjacent marsh and wet meadow areas, as well as the marsh islands in the lake, also provide habitat for many plant species. The beach also offers plenty of space for sports and leisure activities for those seeking relaxation.
