Discovery loop Panoramic view of the Ruhr area

On the northern edge of the Neander Valley, the discovery loop "Panoramic view of the Ruhr area" connects to the 5th stage of the Neander Valley Trail. It offers views of the Ruhr area in good visibility. Standing on the back of the Vossnacken, this panoramic view extends from the Gasometer in Oberhausen, over the Tetraeder in Bottrop, the Essen Villa Hügel, the Gelsenkirchen Schalke Arena to the Bochum Observatory. Blooming landscapes and mixed forests attract in all directions.

Shaped by agriculture, recreation, and monuments, one would not expect such a cultural gem as Langenberg in the direct vicinity of the major cities. Following the cultural offerings shaped by the entrepreneurs of the 19th century at the Langenberg Civic Center and the United Society, the Langenberg Art House Association was established in 1992. In 2001, the Bücherstadt Langenberg Association was founded. Antique shops and small museums, exhibitions, events such as readings, cabaret, and music of various genres now offer a diverse cultural program.
