Stage 10: Ratingen-Homberg - Erkrath

After starting at the Grevenmühle golf course, we briefly follow the Schwarzbach, then head south towards Erkrath. Cheerfully, we hike through the gently hilly landscape. Crossing the small "Geisterwäldchen" resembles a test of courage, and then we briefly pass through the Metzkausen district of Mettmann. From there, we continue past the golf course until we pass through the diverse Stindertal with a mill, floodplain landscape, and the famous "Maria im Tal".

In Erkrath, we meander in a large loop through the forests and meadows of Gut Jägerhof and Gut Papendelle, ending up in the park of Haus Morp, which was designed as an English landscape garden around 1900. The stage ends behind the park of the former manor, not far from Erkrath S-Bahn station.

The section from Homberg to Erkrath is one of the longer stretches of the neanderland STEIG, but still very pleasant to walk.
