Follow the course of the Murmecke River to the Aabach Dam. The dam now supplies fresh drinking water to around ¼ million people in the region. Until the end of the 1970s, the old Aamühle - also called "Bumbams Mill" - was located at this spot. The mill, which was still inhabited at the time, with a guesthouse, was a destination for many day-trippers. However, it had to be burned down to flood the dam. Continuing past the forebay, you will go through the valley of the Große Aa to the Schützenwiese. Here, you will enjoy a great view of the Aa houses before returning to the starting point.
