Barnim Elevators

This bike tour is ideal for cyclists who arrive and depart by public transport. It starts at the S-Bahn station in Hönow and leads north through the Regional Park Barnimer Feldmark. The goal of the tour is the Niederfinow boat lifts. Afterwards, it continues along the towpath on the Finow Canal to Eberswalde. Peace and tranquility characterize the water- and forest-rich landscape. Accordingly, you experience the flora and fauna up close along the wayside. The Finow Canal is Germany's oldest artificial waterway still in operation. Where boats were once "towed" by muscle power and horsepower, the waterway is now exclusively dedicated to tourism.
