Description by the author

Innovative and witty, this audio guide tour in German or English takes you back to the 500-year era of the Habsburgs, who expanded Günzburg into "Little Vienna".
The digital city tour with your smartphone starts at the castle, right by the tourist information office. From there, the route leads past Günzburg's landmark, the "Lower Gate", to the top sight, the Frauenkirche - the rococo jewel and masterpiece of the famous master builder Dominikus Zimmermann. Afterwards, you will walk through picturesque alleyways via the Dossenberger Hof back to the starting point.
On the way, you will learn, among other things, what the Austrian double-headed eagle on the entrance portal of the town hall is all about and why one of the most important mints of the Habsburg Empire was established here. The mystery of the "Günzburger Fidla" is solved and the lively hustle and bustle on Günzburg's market square in the 18th century is brought back to life. Find out why there was an extra gate in Günzburg just for cows and why the Saubartel stands on Wätteplatz in the original voice of city guide Siegfried Ranz, while his colleague Marion Schlaegel tells you about the life of the doorman and petty citizens.

With GPS to ten exciting listening points

At some of the ten listening points, additional pictures and information are shown on the cell phone display. All "listening stops" are marked with signs. The smartphone uses GPS to navigate through the tour and automatically starts the audio at the respective listening points.
