From Werneuchen via Börnicke, the Camino de Santiago to Seefeld

Thanks to the project "Jakobswege östlich und westlich der Oder" of the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt/Oder, one can walk the Camino de Santiago in accordance with the Spanish proverb "El camino comienza su casa - The way begins at your doorstep."

Route: Werneuchen, Börnicke, Löhme, Seefeld

Arrival / Departure: Train: from Berlin with the RB25 (Werneuchen) to Werneuchen (approx. 30 minutes) and from Seefeld with the RB25 (Ostkreuz Bhf) to Berlin (approx. 25 minutes). Car: from Berlin via the A10 to Werneuchen (approx. 60 minutes) and from Seefeld via the A10 to Berlin (approx. 40 minutes). Route description: Since the 12th century, the Camino de Santiago has crisscrossed all of Europe like a spider's web. Santiago de Compostela is still one of the most important pilgrimage destinations for European Christians today. The northern route of the Camino de Santiago through Brandenburg, from the Oder to Berlin, starts in Frankfurt/Oder. It leads through the Märkisch-Oderland and Oder-Spree districts to the Barnim district through Werneuchen, Seefeld-Löhme, Börnicke to Bernau near Berlin. Over the past 20 years, there has been a growing desire among believers and tourists to walk the ancient pilgrimage route themselves. This revival led to a pan-European movement.
