The starting point of the route is in front of the parish hall. From there, the trail runs uphill past the parish church "Matthäuskirche". This is where the first view of Lohrhaupten and the Gelnhausen valley opens up and invites you to enjoy it. At the "Widdehuh" hilltop at an altitude of 507.8 m, hikers are offered a unique wealth of views. The Spessart Trail loop leads back to Lohrhaupten via field, forest and meadow paths with a variety of natural impressions.
