The Spree is beautiful at any time of year and even in the hot summer many old trees provide shade along the cycle path. Starting in Bautzen, you soon pass the Spreebad and Humboldthain and could stop off at Spreetal Grubschütz. If you turn back here, you will have covered around 9 km. In Singwitz, the Petrick ice cream parlor is right on the cycle path! If you continue, you will soon reach Obergurig with the old water mill, which also has a beer garden when the weather is nice. There is also a lot of history to see. Cycle as far as the Bohemian Bridge dating from 1724, where you can stop for coffee and cake at the "Kuchenhäusel".
If you want to go further, you can reach Großpostwitz, Rodewitz and Kirschau, where the Körsetherme spa and the "Körse" castle ruins are inviting. The furthest point of our tour is the small town of Schirgiswalde with its half-timbered houses, Kloßmühle café, gondola pond and absolutely curious history - the town was once forgotten and had to govern itself for 40 years!
The same route takes us back to Bautzen, offering many new perspectives on the numerous sights along the way.
