Ralbitz-Rosenthal - Tour 4

A wonderful half-day tour through the heath in the Sorbian settlement area
The bilingual municipality of Ralbitz-Rosenthal is located in the heart of Sorbian-speaking Lusatia. Many Sorbian traditions and customs are still lovingly preserved in the villages.
Rosenthal is home to a Marian pilgrimage site, which was looked after by Cistercians until 2007. Several pilgrimages take place on the pilgrimage meadow every year, including that of the diocese of Dresden-Meißen. The Rosenthal pilgrimage site is one of the five pilgrimage sites that have been part of the "Central European Pilgrimage Sites" association since 2000.
Deep pine forests, long shady forest paths, country lanes planted with chestnut, oak or lime trees and lovingly maintained villages offer many opportunities to pause and take a deep breath.
