Industry-Route Sugar and Salt

A good starting point for your journey is the Municipal Museum Schloss Salder. There are plenty of free parking spaces available. The route leads towards Gebhardshagen, where historic buildings await you. In Lattemannsgasse, you will find the old Lattemansche House from 1636, a little further is the Water Castle Gebhardshagen with the Knight's Castle Adventure Playground. The journey continues through Calbecht to Groß Mahner to the disused sugar factory. A detour to Salzgitter-Bad, a state-recognized place with salt spa facilities, is definitely worth it. Through the half-timbered old town, you will reach the Rose Garden and can relax and breathe at the Gradierpavillon. The tour back to Groß Mahner goes through rural villages to Heerter See. Many birds can be observed from the observation platform.
