Before reaching Winsen and the Elbmarsch, the cycle path accompanies the Luhe through a hilly landscape with large agricultural areas, forests, and heathland. For example, the section along the Luhe Canal is a popular destination for short trips. As it passes through Winsen (Luhe), the river flows close to the castle, the city's landmark.
Other noteworthy buildings in the lively city center include the historic town hall and St. Marien Church. Just beyond the town center, the Stöckter Deich begins. From the dike, you have a wide view over the land. The river course and its estuary into the Ilmenau River are overgrown with reeds, which are home to many water birds. The Stöckter Deich passes by the marina and ends at Stöckter Hafen. The Luhe Cycle Path continues to the Elbuferstraße, where it meets the Elbe Cycle Path. A few hundred meters further is the ferry terminal of Hoopte. From there, you can take a ferry to Zollenspieker (Hamburg).
