Our tour starts in Bardowick. The city is known for its striking cathedral. Next is the idyllic village of St. Dionys. Then you pass the border to the Harburg district.
Here you follow the cycle path towards the historic village of Oldershausen and then ride through a varied field landscape towards Fahrenholz and Mover.
Along the old dike line you go to Tönnhausen, where you can catch a glimpse of the original course of the Ilmenau River, which was preserved during the construction of the canal. Along the dike of the Ilmenau Canal, you now ride towards the pumping station and after an idyllic ride through the meadow landscape of the Ilmenau, you reach Stöckte.
On the Stöckter dike you cycle with a magnificent panoramic view until you reach Stöckter Harbor. Now just a short stretch along the Elbe River Road and you will reach the endpoint of this tour, the Hoopter Ferry Harbor. Here the Ilmenau River flows into the Elbe and you can take the ferry to Hamburg.
