The huge excavator that stands as a technical monument in Hagenwerder is impressive. The transformation of the lovely landscape into lunar craters was not so long ago and can still be seen in the area. In and around Hagenwerder there are a number of "lost places" through which the hiker passes. Our route is the Neisse cycle path. We leave the cycle route in Leuba and walk straight up the ridge. Wind turbines bear witness to more modern forms of energy generation. The view can wander here. The Knorrberg is a natural highlight. The huge basalt columns are exposed and unfortunately quite overgrown. If you make the effort to scramble up the mountain, you will be rewarded with a very beautiful view to the south. Many warmth-loving plants have settled here. The comfortable forest paths lead down into the Neisse valley to the monastery. Seen from the monastery vineyard, the entire baroque ensemble lies before the eyes of the astonished observer as if on a platter. In the monastery, part of the Via Sacra, you can spend the night in the nuns' former cells.
