In the Uedemer Hochwald, hikers will find a well-marked network of hiking trails. The trail is marked in only one direction!
The southern part of the Hochwald is designated as a nature reserve with old beech and oak tree stands. There are also so-called natural forest cells with areas rich in old and dead wood. As a result, the nature reserve in particular is of great importance for various bird species such as lesser spotted woodpeckers, black woodpeckers, stock doves, and jackdaws, as well as goshawks, sparrowhawks, common buzzards, honey buzzards, and tawny owls.
