Weddelbergrundweg A3

Starting point of the circular hike is at the Weddelsee hiking portal, where the Medebach Mountain Trail also begins. The first section runs on the former railroad embankment of the Kleinbahn: Here, from 1902 to 1953, the "Feuriger Elias" steamed towards Steinhelle near Olsberg.
Before the route plunges into the Weddels forest, we can enjoy a fantastic view of the old Hanseatic city from the hilltop. On natural paths and trails, we experience the nearly 500m high Weddelberg, and as a small highlight, the Hasenkammerblick awaits us, where the view, as the name suggests, goes into the Hasenkammer valley. We also look far into the Rothaargebirge. A panoramic panel explains the surrounding mountains. Up here is also a good place to rest comfortably. A forest sofa as well as a wooden table and bench warmly invite you. Along winding paths, we descend through the forest down to the Weddelsee.
