Rund um den Bärwalder See (Tour 3 im Landkreis Görlitz)

Around 26 kilometers lie ahead of you if you want to cycle around the largest lake in Saxony. The best place to start your cycle tour is at the boat landing stage in Boxberg/O.L. and cycle along the Bärwalder See in the direction of Klitten. Forest and heath accompany you on your tour - you might even spot a gray heron or kingfisher.
The route then continues to Klitten harbour and then on towards Uhyst. We recommend a detour to Uhyst Castle with its castle grounds or to the Spree Island with the little dreamy Spree castle. A llama trekking tour in the safari game reserve is also worthwhile. Continue along Lake Bärwald, past the Merzdorf/Schöpsdorf memorial, over the new cycle and footpath bridge until you reach your starting point in Boxberg/O.L. again. Your cycle tour is rounded off with a dip in the cool water or a walk up to the "Ohr" landscape structure, from where you have a view over the entire lake.
