Eistobel - Schlucht-, Wald- und Wiesenwanderung - Westallgäuer Wasserweg 18

The hike on the Westallgäuer Wasserweg 18 is characterized by its versatility. At the starting point, the information pavilion at the Argentobel bridge, there is not only ice cream, but also hiking maps, brochures and display boards showing how the Eistobel was formed and which animals and plants live in the nature reserve. After paying a small fee (2.50 euros for people aged 17 and over, 2 euros reduced, 1 euro for children aged 6 - 16), you descend into the shady, cool ravine. Framed by rock walls up to 130 meters high, the water of the Obere Argen cascades down into the valley over several terraces. On hot summer days, the wide gravel banks are a great place to rest, play or take a dip. The path forks near the waterfall at the ice footbridge. To the right, the route leads uphill towards Staufenberg. The roar of the waterfall becomes quieter with every meter of ascent. By the time you leave the mountain forest, it is completely silent. From now on, paths and the signposted hiking trail lead through a bright and light Allgäu meadow and pasture landscape back to the starting point.
