The "Built on sand" cycle route follows the traces of sand, as a lot is built on and with sand in Münsterland. The circular route is around 300 kilometres long. It takes you past castles, moated castles and manor houses through the idyllic Münsterland parkland. The cycle tour starts in Münster. Some of the most important sandstone buildings can already be seen there. But this tour is not just about cycling. There is also the opportunity to look over the shoulder of a stonemason!
