• 11 historically significant houses in the old town of Arneburg
• 11 different stories of use of these houses over the centuries
• 11 stories about the lives of the owners
• 11 facade plaques that adorn the houses and explain the history of the house on site

Description

On the occasion of the 15th Altmärkisches Heimatfest in May 2011 in Arneburg, the ARNEBURGER CULTURE AND LOCAL HISTORY ASSOCIATION initiated an ambitious project: Research on the development history of significant old town houses and their presentation on facade plaques. Each building has its own unique history, and the city as a whole is a living testimony to the past.

So far, 11 plaques adorn the city, with more planned.

These plaques serve to make the history and significance of the historic buildings visible to the public and to preserve the cultural heritage of the city. It is a historical city tour that brings the history of the old town closer to visitors and locals.

From Stendal, follow the L16 to the Arneburg exit.

Parking information

Parking spaces are distributed throughout the city and the tour can be reached within a maximum of 10 minutes on foot.
