This hiking trail runs almost exclusively on solid, easily walkable paths through the forest and in large parts also on the supra-regional "Ahornweg" (Maple Tree Trail). The path leads over the Limberg to the "Zeppelinstein" (Zeppelin Stone), where on June 28, 1910, the airship "Deutschland" landed in the trees. Originally, the airship had started its maiden voyage in Düsseldorf, which was planned to lead over the Rhine-Main area. However, a bad weather report led to a change in course towards the Teutoburg Forest, where the zeppelin stranded in the treetops despite heavy rain, hail, and even snow in June! Fortunately, only one passenger was injured. The "Zeppelinstone" serves as a reminder of this event.
