Resistant heath, Cold War and culinary delights
To the southwest of Lüchow lies the municipality of Trebel, which with just 15 inhabitants per km² is one of the least densely populated municipalities in Lower Saxony. Pine forests and a unique heath landscape stretch between the villages and fields. Sheep and goats graze here on the dry sandy soils, ensuring that the landscape shines in the pink of the heather in late autumn. All around, there is all sorts of culinary delights as well as the works of local artists and artisans to discover.
