The Spitzing area can often offer snow a little earlier than the surrounding area, which is why many people undertake their first tours of the season there. From the Stümpfling parking lot, the tour first leads downhill to the Valepper-Almen and then via the Grünsee descent up to the Roßkopf. This part of the ski area is somewhat quieter than the descents on the Stümpfling and Sutten and is therefore popular with ski tourers - the official ascent trail also runs here. The tour leads downhill past the Grünsee lake and then back to the starting point.
