This circular trail first leads up to the Birkenstein pilgrimage church - a very idyllic place, especially in winter - and then continues through the Leitzachtal valley back to Fischbachau. We start our circular route in Fischbachau in the center of the village. After the narrow part of the village, we turn left into Wolfseeweg; once in Wolfsee, we keep left towards Birkenstein. The path initially runs along the edge of the forest, later in the forest and climbs slightly up to the pilgrimage chapel. From Birkenstein, we follow the panoramic trail via Kreit and Salmer to Marbach and from there the footpath back to Fischbachau.
