A varied and challenging tour between Bebenhausen, Einsiedel and Lustnau.
From the Pfeifferstein parking lot, we first follow the wide forest path heading east. We use this section of the route to warm up, as the first ascent lies ahead: out of the Kirnbach valley, up towards Pfrondorf.
We continue along the Einsiedel Trail until we are close to the edge of the forest, which offers a view of the agricultural land of the Einsiedel estate. Before reaching the Lindenallee parking lot, turn right onto the forest path (barrier). Along the fields - but still on a forest path - we enjoy the flat route.
At a junction on the right, we leave the edge of the forest and turn into the forest again. The route continues up and down to the reservoir in the south of Einsiedel. The Schönbuchsteige leads downhill on the path parallel to the road.
Watch out: There are also hikers here and two other forest paths cross. You should adjust your speed and be ready to brake here.
On arrival in the Neckar valley, we follow the road to Pfrondorf for a short distance, but then turn right onto the old footpath. If you don't want to cycle on the road, you can use the cycle path on the other side of the road, but you will have to cross the road twice. It goes up again to Pfrondorf and just before we reach the sports facilities, we cross the road and turn left.
Through meadows and fields with amazing views of the Härten communities, the route leads back into the forest and along the "Egeria Trail" back down to the Neckar.
Attention: The Egeria Trail is very narrow in some places and drops steeply to the side. Always ride slowly and with foresight (S3)!
We follow the Neckar to the B12 Boulder Center and cross it there using the footbridge and cycle path. We follow the Ammer to the sports institute, crossing a busy road into the center of Lustnau.
We continue up the hill through Lustnau. At the top, at the riding stables, we cross the road and follow the asphalt field path to the edge of the forest. Now it's time for the descent to Goldersbach. Attention: the Hägnach trail is very steep, narrow and winding in the lower third. This requires MTB experience. Take particular care when turning onto the footpath along the Goldersbach stream at the end of the Hägnach trail, which is very busy (S3).
A bypass is set up after two thirds of the Hägnach Trail.
We follow the Goldersbach towards Bebenhausen and use the flat route to take a deep breath, as the climb from the Kirnbach barbecue area up to the Olgahain is a tough one.
Unfortunately, no other route was possible here to ride down the trail.
Caution is also advised here on the narrow path: Local cyclists also like to use this trail downhill, so be prepared for oncoming traffic. At the same time, families with children can often be found there.
Shortly below the Olga grove, the route turns left and leads uphill through some loose scree. At the top, almost 2 km of "King Wilhelm Trail" await as a reward.
Attention: the King Wilhelm Trail crosses forest paths twice.
One crossing is very tricky due to the steep drop into a ditch. Be sure to dismount (S3)!
In the last section, the trail is very muddy and difficult to ride. Then it's only a few meters to the starting point at the Pfeifferstein parking lot.</p
