There are ten information boards along the 4.8-kilometre trail, which contain interesting facts about tree species, their fruits and leaves as well as native bird species, wild animals and microorganisms.
The trail leads from the starting point at the Kapellenwiese along the Momberg, through the Groniger and Oberthaler Bruch, back through the so-called Äppelkammer to the parking lot at the Kapellenwiese. In addition to rare butterflies and moths, the quarry is home to more than 200 plant species, 18 of which are on the Red List of endangered species.
