Along the Climate Experience Routes, the fascinating interactions of climate, nature, and human health are made visible and tangible. Here you will learn, among other things, how the climate conditions from historical times still reflect in the landscape today and in what ways the current climate conditions influence the plant and animal world, as well as humans. You can also expect an outlook on how the landscape of the nature park is likely to change with the current climate change. Lying limestone or oak trunks, marked with a continuous numbering, indicate climate phenomena along the wayside. In the accompanying hiking guide, there are detailed descriptions and explanations of these experience points. A total of 12 such marked points are located along the route between Hiddesen and Augustdorf. Topics such as climate history and climate change and their influence on the landscape are explained and illustrated using examples. For instance, the consequences of the hurricane Kyrill are addressed on-site. "Viewing tubes" made of oak trunks direct your gaze to special features of nature related to climate, weather, and conditions. On the route, you will also learn a lot about bogs, their formation, and how they are influenced by the climate.
