The "time" includes the history of the landscape, as it has been shaped and influenced by the people living here over centuries, but also the natural cycle of plants and animals in the seasons and in their life phases. This also includes the "dynamic" history of the Earth, which created the Teutoburg Forest around 70 million years ago.
Themes are assigned to the paths, which are brought into focus by "time windows" and "witnesses" during the hike. Thus, the defining theme of circular route 1 is the still recognizable effect of historical forest use by humans. Paths 2 and 3 focus on the seasons in the beech forest. The traces of often hidden signs of human life can be hiked on path 4, and paths 5 and 6 show what opportunities Earth's history has created for vegetation through the formation of different geological formations and what consequences this has for local biodiversity.
