Nature park trail Weser heights trail 1: From Höxter to Blankenau

Embark on an interesting "journey through time" through nature, culture, and history in this unique landscape of the Upper Weser on the Weser Heights Trail. The total 48-kilometer long route leads from the culturally significant and UNESCO World Heritage recognized Corvey Abbey to the bizarre Hannoversche Klippen.
Along the way, there are picturesque views of the Weser Valley and the adjacent mountain peaks. Rocks often emerge on the slopes. One of the many picturesque landmarks is the Weser Skywalk with a breathtaking view over the river valley.
The limestone beech forests in the Upper Weser area are unique in their characteristics. The typical forest communities occur in a very diverse variant. The close interlocking with warm habitat types also provides a habitat for a variety of endangered animal and plant species. The populations of the rare service tree and the original occurrences of the yew are noteworthy.
