2 Täler-Tour

At first glance, the tour does not appear to make any great demands on riding technique. It runs on gravel or asphalted farm tracks with a small proportion of meadow paths. However, the opportunities offered along the route increase this requirement. After a leisurely start on the cycle path from Schlüchtern to Niederzell, the route then climbs steadily. Once you reach the Bellinger Warte, the first climb is almost over. A short detour to the Warte is rewarded with a fantastic view. Passing the leisure and climbing park in Steinau, the tour leads to the Alte Weinstraße on the other side of the ridge between the Kinzig and Jossa valleys. The Spessartbogen is crossed at the Alte Weinstraße. Here, more technically experienced mountain bikers can take the section into the Rohrbach valley. The "Perlen der Jossa" cycle path now takes you a little way down the valley before a short ascent or descent leads to Neuengronau. This is followed by a longer ascent accompanied by open wooded areas and open spaces, which repeatedly offer great views of the Spessart or the Rhön. At the old sports field in Weiperz, the tour crosses the Spessartbogen again. Sporty mountain bikers can now follow this signpost to Schlüchtern. Those who prefer a quieter ride can follow the actual route to Ahlersbach. Past Teufelskanzel and Wilder Tisch, the tour leads through a beautiful beech forest down into the Ahlersbach valley. Passing small ponds, the route climbs one last time towards Hohenzeller Berg. A view of Schlüchtern and the Kinzig valley rounds off the tour. The route now descends along a forestry path to Schlüchtern and the starting point of the tour.
