Beilsteinschleife

Spirkelbachtal, Eselsweg, Hindenburgstein, Beilstein and the route of a narrow-gauge track are prominent sections and tour points on this tour. Trails, forest paths and forestry tracks characterize the route. After starting at the Schafhof farm in Burgjoß, the tour leads into the Spirkelbach valley, which is initially wide but later narrows and ascends. At the end of the valley, the Eselsweg awaits mountain bikers. This section of the long-distance hiking trail is a highlight of the tour and a must for every local touring cyclist. The thick E also determines the course of the route after crossing the country road up to Hindenburgstein. The rest of the route is determined by the route of the old narrow-gauge railroad, which once connected the Wegscheide with the former military training area near Lettgenbrunn. Past the Hoher Berg nature reserve (old basalt quarry) and the Beilstein nature reserve, a short trail leads down to Lettgenbrunn. The route now leads over forest and meadow paths into the Schwarzer Grund. Now you have to mobilize your strength one last time. A forest trail takes you up a little more challengingly before the route - combined with a wonderful view of the Jossatal valley - leads down to Wettergrund near Oberndorf and from there back to the starting point.
