Circular route Kleinfriedenthal

Short description

Following the footsteps of the Dukes of Saxony-Weissenfels to the former hunting lodge Klein-Friedenthal.

Description

The hike starts at the parking lot of Neuenburg Castle and the Weinberghotel Edelacker.

Then the path leads through an old tree avenue into the forest, initially passing through a forest cemetery.
Along the edge of the forest you will reach the hunting lodge Klein-Friedenthal. In the past, there was a zoo with pleasure garden here as well as the Palais Klein-Friedenthal.
The hike will take you to Windberg, where you will have a view of the wine town Freyburg.
The return journey leads through a light forest, offering occasional views of the valley to the wine town and the vineyards.
Alternatively, you can also start the hike in Freyburg, starting from the shooting range (parking lot).

Route description

Starting point of the hike is the parking lot of Neuenburg Castle, to the former hunting lodge Klein-Friedenthal, viewpoint Windberg and back to the parking lot of Neuenburg Castle.
