The area around Bad Sulza is called the Thuringian Tuscany. The hilly landscape and sometimes the special light remind of the region in Italy. Mild climate and the valley location make viticulture possible. Wine has been cultivated here for over 800 years. The vineyards around Bad Sulza and Auerstedt are characterized by Muschelkalk. Where orchids also feel at home, fruity grape varieties thrive. Even red wines achieve convincing quality.
