Description

You will hardly be able to wait to set off on Schuster Rappen, because at the beginning of the hike you will visit Schönburg. The castle and the village nestle closely to the rocks, the red sandstone is striking in the village. From the castle, there is a wide view of the Saaletal towards Naumburg and the village itself.
You hike a short steep section up to Fachberg. Here, too, there are sight lines to Naumburg, the Saale, and Schönburg - a dreamlike resting place.
The varied hike leads through fields with a view of Goseck, through a deciduous forest, past meadows and clearings, vineyards, and finally to the Stone Angel in Kroppental. The Stone Angel is believed to be a precursor to the Stone Picture Book of Großjena.
Right next to the Stone Angel, there is a kind of "seat niche". So, you can let your thoughts wander under the watchful eye of the angel. A bridge over the Wethau leads directly to the Kroppenmühle and later to the Neumühle. Further along the hike, along the Saale, you will also see the confluence of the Wethau with the Saale. At the last stretch of the trail, the Schönburg already greets you.

A total of five information boards placed along the way provide extensive information on the topics "Paths through the Schönburg Rocks", "Sandstone of Schönburg", "Schönburg in the Saale Valley", "Spring water from the depths of the rocks", and "Sandstone and Wine".
