Dolmen Cycle Path

The Dolmen Cycle Path connects the Himmelsscheiben Cycle Path in Querfurt with the Saale Cycle Path near Goseck.

Description

The cycle path is about 52 km long. It starts in Querfurt, leads past Querfurt Castle to the grave of the Dolmen Goddess and the Eichstädter Warte.
Then it continues to Lake Geiseltal. Via Braunsbedra, Schortau, Lunstädt, Pettstädt, Markröhlitz, you cycle to Goseck, where the Sun Observatory and Goseck Castle are located.
Passing Goseck Castle, the cycle path leads via Lobitzsch to the ferry bridge to Leißling. This is where the Dolmen Cycle Path ends.
To reach the Saale Cycle Path or the Unstrut Cycle Path in Naumburg/Freyburg, it is recommended to continue from Goseck via Dobichau and Großjena to the Unstrut and then to the Saale.
Starting from Querfurt, the Dolmen Cycle Path is connected to the Himmelsscheiben Cycle Path, from Mücheln to the Goethe Cycle Path, and from Goseck to the Saale-Unstrut-Elster Radacht, and thus also to the Saale and Unstrut Cycle Path.
Attention: From Goseck Castle, the steep Mühlenweg leads into the Saaletal Valley, with a gradient of 20%.

Route description

Starting from Querfurt, the Dolmen Cycle Path is connected to the Himmelsscheiben Cycle Path, from Mücheln to the Goethe Cycle Path, and from Goseck to the Saale-Unstrut-Elster Radacht, and thus also to the Saale and Unstrut Cycle Path.
