Hike through a region characterized by orchards, above the Kloschwitz stream

Description

The hike starts at the hiking car park on the Saale in Trebnitz. A viewing platform overlooking the Saale, information boards, and a rest area are the ideal starting point.

Uphill, you take a narrow forest path, at the clearing with a view of the Saale valley, sightlines extend all the way to Friedeburg. Through fields, the heap of the former potash mine Johannashall becomes visible.

The picturesque village of Beesenstedt awaits with a castle. The Kloschwitz stream once powered the ice mill and the Kloschwitz mill. Fragments along the wayside hint at where the mills once clattered.

Old orchards alternate with shady deciduous forests and steep valleys. From Kloschwitz, you hike directly along the Saale back to Trebitz.

You can combine this hike with a walk into the Kühlbachtal or Stengelholz via the Himmelsleiter.
