Cherry Path 2 - To the Ark of Sweet Cherries and Beyond

To Hagen's cherries:
The Hagen gene bank for old sweet cherry varieties: With the old stock of cherry trees and the cherry variety planting on the Jägerberg, Hagen a.T.W. has the most comprehensive cherry variety collection in Germany at present. It comprises about 250 to 300 varieties and represents the "treasure" to the preservation of which the municipality committed itself in 2007 as part of a cooperation with the German Gene Bank for Fruit. The cherry educational trail is part of this magnificent project. With a total of 8 information boards, it leads through the cherry variety planting established since 2004.
