Hike in the Süderstapeler Westerkoog

9 km - 2:00 h | Starting point: Stapel church, Am Markt 6, 25879 Stapel

From the church, walk down to the Eider and turn right at the vacation park. At the point where the Katenberg meets the dyke, continue straight ahead along the edge of the village. After approx. 650 m, turn left at an information board onto a farm track. You now walk through extensive reed beds until you reach the Eider dyke. Here you continue left through a wooden gate onto a grassy path. After approx. 800 m you will pass another gate and now keep left. At the next fork, you can either take the shortcut straight ahead or turn right. This path takes you back to the Eider dyke (here you can climb over the dyke and enjoy the view of the Eider). Underneath the dyke, you now walk northwards in a wide arc back through the Westerkoog. Keep to the right and you will return to Süderstapel.
