Hike Süderbrarup

8.7 km - 1:45 h | Starting point: Parking lot on the market square in Süderbrarup

You hike along the signposted "Historical culture and nature trail Süderbrarup/Norderbrarup". Information boards at twelve stations provide insights into local features. The flyer for the circular trail is available from the Tarp Tourist Information Office. You first walk to the eastern side of the market square. Here you turn left into the street "Am Markt". Continue straight ahead into Bachstraße and turn right at a bend into the street "Am Thorsberg". Here you can take a detour to the Thorsberger Moor. You will come to Bahnhofsstraße (L252). Continue right on the cycle/footpath. You will soon cross the Oxbek. Turn left onto Ziegeleiweg and you will come to Norderbrarup. The Ziegeleiweg leads back onto the L252 and you continue left. At the church in Norderbrarup, turn left into Ruruper Straße. After crossing the railroad tracks over a bridge, turn left onto a hiking trail. A small bridge crosses the Oxbek, then you walk left along the stream, then along the tracks to the south. You come to the Heidbergweg. Here you can turn left and visit the nature reserve "Os bei Süderbrarup". However, the circular route continues to the right before the tracks (Heuländer Straße). You cross the tracks again and come to the "Kummerhy" burial mound. Here you cross the tracks of the museum railroad and come to Bahnhofstraße. Keep right there and turn left into Große Straße in the town center to return to the market square. If you want to walk further, you can take a detour to the Holy Spring. Pass the market square and after approx. 400 m turn left onto Große Straße to the school center. A paved path leads past the school building on the right to Grüner Weg. Turn right and then left. You come to Quellenstraße and pass the "Heilige Quelle". At Bachstraße, turn left and return to the starting point. Worth seeing:SüderbrarupBrarup marketAngeln steam train
