Tour 24: Roding - Wallfahrtskirche Heilbrünnl - Katzenrohrbach - Walderbach - Haus - Neubäu am...

This route follows the Regental cycle path north of the Regen to a hill with the Heilbrünnl pilgrimage church. Further downstream, Regenpeilstein Castle (13th/14th century) towers within sight. Near Wiesing there is an old mill with a huge water wheel. We leave the idyllic Regental valley at Walderbach - but not without paying a visit to this historically significant town. Worth seeing: Former Cistercian monastery with Romanesque monastery church and imposing monastery complex, concert series in the festival hall, district educational garden. If you feel like it, cycle to Reichenbach, two kilometers away: a former Benedictine abbey (12th century) with a Romanesque church, the interior of which is richly decorated in Baroque-Rococo style. Back to Walderbach: we reach Stockhof on the route leading north. Via Haus, the tour leads to Neubäuer See with its camping park, lido and lakeside restaurant. From Neubäu am See, the cycle path runs through untouched forest landscape to Strahlfeld and then back to Roding.
