From the Lambach parking lot, follow the marked hiking trail La3 to the Iron Madonna. Next to the telephone line supported by wooden poles, the partly stony hiking trail runs steadily uphill, past the Teufelstritt (rock with engraved signs) until you reach a wood storage area. Here you can either cross the Osser meadow or head directly to the Großer Osser (marked by the signpost tree). This tour leads through an area where the rare capercaillie can be found. Any small disturbance causes these large birds to flee, expending enormous amounts of energy in the process. If disturbed regularly, this can lead to starvation. Therefore our request: Stay on the marked hiking trails in winter!
