Kaitersberg Panoramaweg

This popular day tour starts at the tourist information office in the center of Arrach. At the "Arracher Hof" inn, follow Sperlgasse to the left uphill for a short distance until the hiking trail leads to the right over a meadow path. A look over your shoulder is rewarded with a wonderful view of the Lamer Winkel. A flat forest path follows parallel to the Ar4 hiking trail. The paths divide at Vogelwiese and the ascent to the idyllically situated Simmereinöd begins. From then on, the trail climbs steadily until you reach the ridge of the Kaitersberg. You are now on the Goldsteig quality hiking trail and the E6 long-distance hiking trail. Via the Steinbühler Gesenke, with a unique view of the surrounding Regental and Zellertal valleys, the trail leads to a well-deserved stop at the Kötztinger Hütte. Continue along the Kaitersberg ridge trail. Follow the same route back to the Steinbühler Gesenke and on to the Rauchröhren natural monument, which is an Eldorado for climbers. Continuing along the path, you reach the Großer Riedelstein with the natural monument "Waldschmidtdenkmal", which was erected in honor of the local writer Maximilian Waldschmidt. Downhill, you pass the summit of the Kleiner Riedelstein, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Zellertal valley. From here, the descent is via Eck, Eschlsaign back to the starting point. Refreshments are available at the Kötztinger Hütte and the Berggasthof Eck.
