Description by the author

The hike is approx. 15 km long and can be completed in approx. 4.25 hours. Like all Zandt circular hiking trails, we start at the "signpost tree" in the center of the village near the tourist information office. The trail leads past the kindergarten to the end of Zandt. After the end of the sidewalk, you have to walk briefly, approx. 100 m, on the main road. Then turn right onto the cycle path to Harrling. After the hamlet of "Riesel", continue left on the Pandurensteig. We follow this via Riedhof over the "Pfahl" until we see the village of Wolfersdorf to the south of the path. Here we turn right onto the Pfahlweg and walk through the small village of Wolfersdorf, a detour to the St. Anna Chapel on Stegbachstraße is worthwhile. We continue along Schatzbergstraße, following the markings, we turn left to the main road, which we only follow for approx. 100m, then turn left towards Altrandsberg. We continue to follow the markings along forest and meadow paths and pass the Jägerhäusl and the Antonius Chapel, where you can enjoy a beautiful view. Continue past the cemetery to Altrandsberg, where you can visit the renovated castle or the World Art Museum. Of course, you can also stop at Gasthaus Laumer for refreshments on the way back. The hiking trail leads directly past the castle on the right-hand side, at the back via steps and a path into the lower village. Cross the bridge over the Perlbach stream to reach the cycle path. We follow this in the direction of Miltach, past the sports grounds and the ARA Kunst company, where it is worth visiting the factory outlet. Before the cycle path crosses the road, we turn left, following the Pandurensteig uphill through the forest. At the clearings, you can always enjoy a beautiful view of Altrandsberg and later Wolfersdorf. Follow the signposted path to Pfahl. Here you can also take a break at the Pfahlhof, an idyllically situated country inn (open Mon to Sat from 4 pm, Sundays and public holidays all day). The return route runs together with the Za2 via the sewage treatment plant and the vacation village back to the starting point in Zandt.
