The challenging Nordic walking tour "Best views" starts at Berghaus Gibacht. The first few meters lead the walkers left uphill to the cross-country skiers' starting hut. The route then continues along the cross-country ski trail before leaving the forest path towards the border. The walk continues on soft forest ground to the Pfennigfelsen rock, which is said to bring hikers and walkers good luck on their further hike if they throw in a coin. A small path leads between some rocks to the Dreiwappen border crossing. There is a shelter on the Drei-Wappen rock (901 m) at the border. The coats of arms of the Electorate of Bavaria (CB), the Kingdom of Bohemia (KB) and the Duchy of Palatinate (HP) with the year 1766 are carved into the rock from the left, commemorating the demarcation of the border between Bavaria and Bohemia at that time. The basis for this was the border treaty of March 3, 1764, with which the Austrian Empress Maria Theresa (who was also Queen of Bohemia at the time and acted as such) and the Bavarian Elector Max III Joseph put a bloodless end to centuries of disputes over the exact course of the border. Continue downhill for about 200 meters before taking a sharp left across the border down a steep trail (don't forget your ID). It ends on a forest path, which is used by cross-country skiers to Cerchov in winter. Here we turn right along the forest path to the Brombeerriegel hiking and cycling border crossing and continue uphill again towards Dreiwappen. Shortly before this, turn left onto the 5 km cross-country ski trail, then downhill along a trail and right along the forest path to the ski lifts. From here, the trail climbs again to Wendelin and continues along the Goldsteig award-winning hiking trail to Glaskreuz. The last few meters run downhill along small paths and forest trails to the starting point Berghaus Gibacht.
