Mühlriegel-Schareben-Tour

Follow the municipal road directly in front of the tourist information office uphill on the Eschlsaignerstraße to Eschlsaign (after 3.9 km); directly at the chapel turn left up the tarred road and after approx. 100 m continue on the forest path; after approx. 400 m (before the barrier) turn left onto the forest path and follow the Ar10/Ar6 markings to the state road towards Eck; there turn right uphill to Gasthof Eck (refreshments available at km 6.0); follow the road downhill again for approx. 700 m downhill towards Arnbruck and turn left into the forest road at the district boundary; after approx. 2.4 km the forest road ends in a forest path and after a further 400 m you come to an old tarred road which you follow uphill to the left; at km 10.2 turn left into another tarred road, which you follow for approx. 2.4 km to the end; from here you reach the Schare mountain hut on the right after approx. 800 m you reach the mountain hut Schareben (refreshment stop at 13.9 km); from here you can extend the tour to the Kleiner Arbersee, Großer Arber and Bretterschachten; the way back starts on the last used forest road back to the last junction (approx. 800 m); then follow the forest road to the right in the direction of Mühlriegel/Eck to its end for approx. 4.1 km without a junction; here, take the forest road half right uphill (short ascent); at 19.8 km, cross the ridge hiking trail (do not follow the markings here!) and after another 10 m turn left; after a few meters steep descent on a paved forest road; at the end of the descent a forest road begins (km 20.1), which ends after approx. 3.3 km at the state road (pass the barrier beforehand!); here downhill to Arrach on the road for approx. 4.8 km and at km 28.8 turn left to the village center.
