Description by the author

This tour begins in the 550-year-old Marian pilgrimage site of Neukirchen b. Hl. Blut. Via Hinterbuchberg and Warzenried, the route leads to Neuschwarzau, a wasteland right on the border with the Bohemian Forest. Through Stachesrieder Holz you reach Großaign with its natural swimming pond. From here, the route leads to Eschlkam on the Way of St. James. The Bavarian Forest poet Maximilian Schmidt, known as Waldschmidt, was born here and described the wonderful location of the village. The route leads south along the Freybach stream and turns left at the Multererhof farm back to the pilgrimage site of Neukirchen b. Hl. Blut.
