Goldsteig S 20 Zenting – Schrottenbaummühle

The path down to the Ilz, the black pearl of the Bavarian Forest. In the midst of pure nature, the hiker passes the Manzenreuth farm, the small chapel in Eizersdorf, the Ginghartinger mill and finally Thurmansbang. The route then continues through the forest to the Saldenburger See lake, the ideal resting place: if you have your swimming gear with you, you should take the opportunity to take a quick dip. A little further uphill, the Goldsteig then approaches the Ilztal valley via Preying on pleasant forest and meadow paths. At the Ilztal bridge, there is an opportunity for a special detour: if you feel like it and have enough energy, you should not miss the extraordinary natural spectacle of the Dießensteiner Leite. In the Ilztal valley, the trail continues towards Schneidermühle, where there is another opportunity to take a break. Then it continues to Schrottenbaummühle - today's stage destination - along the wild and romantic Ilz river.
