Goldsteig N 11 Furth im Wald – Schönbuchen

Behind Furth im Wald lies the Hohe Bogen. One of the steepest climbs on the Goldsteig awaits hikers here over a distance of around one kilometer. As a reward, you can take a short break from the Burgstall and enjoy a magnificent view over the Chambtal valley and far into Bohemia. The route then continues to the Hohenbogen service hut and, after a well-earned break, descends south towards Grafenwiesen/Schönbuchen at the foot of the Kaitersberg. An alternative (long-distance hiking trail E6) would be the hike over the Osser from the Hohenbogen service hut: 1st day: to the Hohenbogen mountain lodge; 2nd day: down into the valley and up the Osser on the opposite side; 3rd day: from the Osser to the Arber. This variant also continues along the Goldsteig route. In terms of time, by the way, there is no great additional effort - the hiker only replaces stages N12 and N13 here.
