Classic and skating; Classic and skating; This trail is 4.3 kilometers long with a total ascent of 115 meters and an altitude difference of 49 meters. The start is also at the start house and initially follows the same route as the Gibacht trail 2. However, where this trail branches off to the right, it continues straight ahead and a long descent follows, at the end of which cross-country skiers turn right towards Brombeerriegel, but after just a few meters there is a sharp right turn (be careful) and then the route leads fairly flat to the forest road. However, you don't quite reach this road, as a new trail has been created right next to it, which now climbs steeply uphill. You then cross a forest road and continue uphill for another 150 meters. Then you no longer follow the former five-kilometre route, but turn slightly to the right and come to a forest road with a long, very easy descent. The hiking trail between the Reiseck with the glass cross and the Tannenriegel with the lighthouse of humanity is crossed and then a sharp right-hand bend has to be negotiated before the route continues fairly flat towards Gibacht. At the junction for hikers to Gibacht, the trail makes a slight bend to the right and another short ascent follows. It is then only 300 meters to the starting point. There, of course, you can enjoy an excellent refreshment stop at the Berghof Gibacht or at the Althütte in the Bergstadl (Text: Karl Reitmeier). Together with the towns of Furth im Wald and Waldmünchen and the Czech region of Domažlicko, the Safety in Skiing Foundation (SIS) and the German Ski Association (DSV) have been working to develop the quality of the cross-country ski trail network in the Upper Bavarian Forest/Bohemian Forest in recent years. The trails have been certified as a cross-border DSV nordic active center according to international criteria, signposted with a uniform system and equipped with information boards.
