Starting from the sports fields near Mitterdorf, the trail follows the Kammermoosweg through a small wood to the Weiherhaus. Cross the Furth i. W. - Nuremberg railroad line through the forest to the junction of the Wilder Mann hiking trails no. 58/60. From here, head north. After visiting the Steinhäufl chapel, the trail climbs slightly uphill to the ruins of Schwärzenberg castle with a magnificent view of the Roding-Neubäu am See district. The return journey follows the same route.
